Alright guys, I was wondering if any of you run an actual tranny pressure gauge in the car. Not the big hand helds for testing but a 2 1/16th gauge you can put in a pod inside the car like a boost or oil pressure gauge. Reason I ask is I bought a NOS Stewart Warner Trans PSI gauge off Ebay, looks just like the OE GNX gauges. It reads to 400 psi and is mechanical. I was hoping some how to install this in the car to be able to monitor the trans pressure like I do oil psi and other critical things. What type of line should I use to install to the gauge from the tranny? My tranny pressures should be upwards of 280psi max or so. Tranny is down for a rebuild right now but will be going back together by next weekend I hope
So what do you think? What would be the best line to use to hold up to the pressure? Have any of you done this before? I know the gauge may not be as accurate as the big hand helds ( I have one of those too BTW ) but it sure would be nice to be able to see the pressures on a dailey basis and keep tabs of the line pressure's health.
