Transmission question.

How would one verify their transmission is set up for a N/L converter.
And, how far off can the scanmaster's MPH reading be off from actual? And what would affect that?

If you aren't sure you would have to pull that spool out of the pump and see.
Speedo, tire size, drive and driven gear in trans. Scan master pulls off the box in the dash if it is like my scan tool.

So could a scanmaster be wrong?

Scanmaster reads data. The data it displays is what it receives. If you have different size tires, a different governor gear or the driven gear the box reads off the Speedo cable in the dash. This could mean you are travelling faster / slower than your scanmaster is displaying.
Next time you have the pan down pull the gov cover and see what gears are up in there if you think they aren't stock.
