Hello all, this is my first post, and Im new to the TR world. Here is my issue:

87, all drive train assumed to be stock / not rebuilt with 125K on it. 1 to 2 shift at about 3/4 throttle is brutal, burning the tire (non g80) for 6-10 feet. When it is WOT the shift is firm, but usually not even chirping the tire. When shifting in other gears, the car holds almost to 6K (according to LED gauge) before shifting. I guess my question is, when should the tranny be shifting (6K seems too high to me) and how would I go about adjusting the shift points? All help would be great.

In case anybody is wondering, its a '87 T, 19U W02 (Black, Blacked out, chrome bumpers). Assumed completed stock, with only exhaust set up with magnaflow mufflers. I have only owned this car about 2 months, and have only put about 1k on it.

The stock LED tach is notoriously inaccurate. The trans normally shifts around 5K at WOT depending on how the T.V. cable is adjusted. Get yourself a scan tool and find out what is really going on.

x2 you cannot go by that led tach. and i would not reccomend playing around with the tv cable unless you have some knowledge of what you are doing. i speak from experience. it cost me 2600.00 bucks to learn this lesson.
