The fan will really only help in situations where the cooler is mounted away from a good, direct airstream. You'd be better off getting a cooler by itself and mounting it either in front of, or directly behind, the A/C condenser.

I have that cooler in my GN, mounted under the battery tray with aluminum brackets I fabbed up. It attaches to the lower edge of the front bumper and the lip on the inner fenderwell.

Hope this helps....let me know if you would like to see some pics.

Steve,

Please send me some pics so I can get a mental picture on how to mount.

much appreciated!

I'll take some pics today.

Can you send some pics to me as well please. I was looking at my engine compartment as well. EDDIE
Thank you,

Steve, thanks for taking the pics for us

Copgn, did you buy the same tranny cooler with fan?

Here ya go

OK guys, I e-mailed you the pics. They are going up on my webshots page in case anyone else wants to see them but the album hasn't updated yet on webshots.com. Again I apologize for taking longer than thought....been running around like a madman lately.

Steve

No, but my plan was to buy a trans cooler with a fan but actually placing it in the battery location as I am moving the battery to the rear. After seeing the installation I am wondering if a fan is needed? Great install.

CopGn, thanks :)
In the place I installed it, I think the fan definitely helps. The airflow coming thru the grill in the airdam doesn't direct air onto the fins at a good angle, and I think w/o the fan it probably would decrease the efficiency.

I was originally going to put it in the battery tray and move the battery to the trunk, but my cooler was so tight in there that it wouldn't have had room to fit the braided lines in there, unless I drilled the fengerwell and ran them underneath, and I didn't want to hack the fenderwell.
Plus, the battery relocation seemed like it was going to be a real pain in the ass and I am clueless when it comes to electrical work. :o Stupid me for buying the complete kit and then deciding not to install it.
