Well, I learned my lesson that Drag Radials are only for racing. I opted for the "cheaper" way at the time and mounted them in the spring on the stock rims and left them there.

Raced twice....no excessive burnouts....they are already showing a few patches of white cords around the circumference. To anyone who has had these tires.....are the done and unsafe? My guess is better safe than sorry.

The "cheap" way at the time is not always the cheap way in the long run. Time to by some slicks and mount them on their own wheels.

I have 255 50 16 BFG DRand am am pleased with them. I had them 3 years have 2100 miles on them and they are 1/2 worn. I did go down the track about 6-8 times, each with a light haze in the burnout box to put heat in the tires. They will last if you keep about 30 psi on the street and 20-22 at the strip. 60' times are consistent low 1.70's all with STOCK suspension and 1 air bag. I'd say your doing extremely well if you get 5K out of them.

I am going to try nitto 245-50r16 DR as my GN is mainly street driven. I heard you can get 10K if you drive them normally??

thats pretty bad tread wear, i have nitto 275/60/15s and they have 7000 miles on them and about 35 runs at the track, all with pretty decent burnouts, they still have just under half the thread left and they have done very well pulling a 1.72 60 ft. I recomend nittos if you want drag radials on the street that are still ok in the rain and tread wear wise
