getting my car painted and im doing the trim myself. i know its like a satin black color or something,. but anyone know wxactly what color and where to get it???? anyone else do this and have any tips????/

Any automotive paint store-SEM trim paint- the # is on the cap which i dont have. Or better yet get them powder coated.

If you powder coat only go where you Know someone else has went or the pieces will melt and warp. But that would make sure they held up. We just painted ours with the trim paint after cleaning them and scotch bright, turned out really nice.

When you say "scotch brite" do you just mean the scouring pads you can buy at wal-mart? The spongy kind or the steel wool kind?

The color is SEMI-FLAT

The Paint brand is KRYLON...you can get this at any Wal-Mart...I think it's about $3-4 for the can...

I know that this is correct b/c I just painted ALL the trim on my car; from headlight bezels to wheel well molding...

is there anything to put over the paint, or will it stay there pretty well?? i mean, will it wash off or fade over time or should it be ok? i just dont want to have to repaint it every year

Wash the car by hand- some car washes have the tendancy to make it peel off.
