My speedo trip meter is out of whack. Acts like it wants to work and even registers some miles but its not accurate. I can use it to reset to all zeros no problem. Questions: Why is it innacurate? Stripped gears? Is it repairable? This is no big problem just a minor annoyance. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks, Joel

While driving a friends T-Type to the GS nationals a few years ago, I noticed the trip meter which had read 22,000 miles, all of a sudden read 41,000. The speedo was removed and repaired at the Nationals. The cause....The white grease used by GM to lubricate the rollers had begun to harden over the years and in essence siezed a couple of the rollers and that is why they are somtimes inaccurate or don't work at all.
