okay i just finished a motor swap and this is my first time ever doing this to any car (i picked the wrong car to learn on lol) but its a 87 gn and after the new motor was put in i drove it around and i have a few questions.
i have way to many problems to put into one post so i will just start with this i have a 160 stat and the car got up to 210 and thats when i shut it off because i was afraid of huring something. the s hose going from water pump to intake is dry and the fan is not turning on at all so can i have some pointers on where to start to find the problem. thanks alot guys

that leads me to my next question when i firsted started in up with new motor it was ideling at 1400rpm but i drove it around and and when it got hot i turned it off and let it cool down and went out again this time the car was ideling at 4000rpms and when i dropped it in gear it spun the tires and took off and then in gear with my foot off the gas the rpms dropped but still stayed around 3000 and i had to keep my foot on the break to keep the speed below 45 so im a little afraid to leave the car on for that reason so i guess before i deal with the overheating i should do this first. lots of problems for me and please remeber im new and try not to just call me an idiot lol
thanks again

Make sure the green/yellow wire is hooked up to the temp sensor just under the throttle arm. You might need to burp the system also (unhook the line at the heater core and see if it will push water

Post up your location and put this thread in the appropriate forum in the Regional section. Hopefully you'll find someone close to you and a lot of TR guys are willing to help a fellow TR owner, maybe one is close to you. Sounds like you have a hand full of problems like you said. A lot easier to diagnose in person as opposed to on the board- but feel free to keep posting, just trying to save you a lot of headaches.

okay guys i got some of my problems figured out i adjusted my tps and that fixed the idel kinda it got down to 1300 and i was missing the plug to the back of the ac compressor so i got the fan running and the temp stayed below 170 so here are my scanmaster numbers can you let me know what going on because i still have a high idel and i can hear what sounds like a vac leak so do these numbers say anything about that?
