Does the pin that holds the spring in go in between the pump halves? I screwed up and put it in from the inside surface and the large dia. flat surface marred up the pump sealing surface to the case. Anyone ever do that except me? What a bonehead i am. So I am trying to figure how the pin goes in. Thanks

paul

Notice washer from lock up assembly inserted under the spring to prevent spring failure.

File the area with raised burrs flat

Split the pump and install. There is a recess in the pump for the head of the pin to sit in. The washer in the picture below and what bison posted keeps the spring from breaking on the pin when pump pressures are increased. Simple mod I came up with when the New GM pumps I had were breaking the relief springs on the pin due to faulty springs. It add pressure to the PR Spring also to raise blowoff pressure.... When they break it almost cuts the pin in half, see pic of pins just starting to wear from spring.

Get Dave to supply you with what's referred to as a 330psi spring. Is this right Dave? Mines working a treat!

Is the 330 psi spring by chance orange? I may have a heavier one in there. What is the length and # of coils of the 330 spring.

I can't remember for sure but I think so. Talk to David H and he will make sure you have the right parts.

Is this spring stock? I need this spring and most likely a new roll pin. Anyone have replacement part numbers?
