In car video reminds me of the Man behind the curtain...Hitting all the buttons and switches.... :D

Nice vid..

WTF do they let you run 11.4's @ 125 without a helmet? The driver is a dumbass.

LOL...I noticed that also,But figured...Hey,Its his head...

And I have never ran across a track that you could skip putting on your helmet.

That's Memphis Motorsports Park and they normally are pretty strict about that stuff.

Thats my tta at the end. Thats the pass that the motor let go. :( The stealth is a friend of mine. It has cam's, a big front mount, and bigger turbo's.

I think that is a Shelby GLHS. Those cars are rare as hell, when my Mustang was new(1 or 2 yrs) I raced one three times and I only beat him by a car each time....thats pretty impressive for a 4 banger from the 80's.

Looked like the first run he had no helmet but I noticed one in the subsequent races. Unusually fast. Most I come across here are not even the turbo ones and they stink.

It probably is. It's definitley not a GTI like I first thought it was. Why else would somebody be running a Dodge Omni? :p

I think it's an 86 Shelby GLHS. I have been looking for one to drive as a daily driver to and from work. They ran lows 13's stock from what I remember. There are a lot of people out there running mid 11's with them now.

They price around the same as a GN. I nice one goes for around 11k. I would like to find one for around 8k.

GLH's only ran 15's stock and GLHS's only ran mid 14's. I'd like to see someone paying over $10K for one, even one with low miles.

When you get around $10K, you get real close to what used SRT4 sell for.
They are 5X the car of a GLHS.

Shelby will sell you a signature for a $5 donation. You don't need to pay $10K for a $2500 car to get one.

Heck, you could get an LS1 for that much.

There are a lot of great cars you can get for Less than $10K. I bought a 70K mile TTA for $9K last year.

One of my college roomates bought a GLHS charger new. He had it maybe 6 months before he lost control of it on a mountain road and litterally drove it off a cliff. It was his first high performace front driver and he forgot the "understeering? don't lift" rule and went straight when the road didn't.

My '86 Mustang (200 Hp) was quicker and faster. Both would have their asses handed to them by a GN.

Don't get me wrong, you can mix and match parts over various years and build a pretty stout GLHS. Stock, they aren't all that. 20 years ago, they could hold their own against V8's. Today, there are a lot more reliable ways to go fast cheaply.

boost + AWD + manual transmisison is awesome.

Stealth TTs/3000GT VR4s are hard on the Getrag transmissions launching such a heavy car (3700lbs). They're pretty expensive to replace. In 94 they got 6-speeds that weren't much stronger, if at all.
