87 TR Stock motor and turbo with the following addons
Alky injection
TT chip for alky and 42.5# injectors
42.5#injectors
9.5" 3000 stall converter
running 93 octane
walbro 340 fuel pump with hotwire kit.
Stock fuel pressure reg. (35psi at idle , as high as 60 at WOT)
So here is the problem.
at 4100 rpm and about 17psi of boost im experiencing knock. (has aftermarket knock gauge)
it will rapidly get worse (knock).
Is it possible since im using a non adjustable fuel regulator that a lean condition may be occurring and causing this knock ? I notice that the fuel press goes up to 60psig.
I do not have a Scan Master at this time.
I verify that the Akly is working before i leave by turning the gain knob all the way up and pressing the test button. (Light goes from red to green) although i dont ever see it turn green while WOT and boost greater than 10psi. The setting is currently at 5.5, not real sure how this is the magic number. ive tried everything from 1 to 9 and still have the knock.
If i can keep the boost below 17 psi, i dont experience any knock (there is a manual boost controller on the car)
Im new to turbo world, so this is all new to me.
Thanks for your help and input.
