The earlier montes had the chevy 229 V6 turbo.

As far as I know they offered the buick 231 LC8 option in 80 and 81 ( 81 rare ). Id like to see a turbo'd 79.
Stockers with LC8 ran the .25 at approx 17.9 - 18 sec...zzzzzzz. They did have the chev v6 as standard engine, but not turbo'd.
check out my page, a link to the 80 brochure somewhere there, shows options you could tick off.
btw, 3rd gen Montes are nicer than all a/g body granpa regals
