Im looking for mainly a precision turbo exhaust housing that will fit my TE44. The precision housing I currently have has a wastegate hole that is too big for my needs. I need one that has a wastegate hole that can be covered by a stock wastegate puck. I think some garret housings fit the TE44s as well though, so I suppose I could use one of those too. Id be more than willing to trade in my precision housing for one with a smaller wastegate hole. My housing is practically brand new, has about 100 miles on it.

plate for the turbo

Hey i just noticed bryans post for new products. I just ran into the exact same thing with my te44. My wastegate hole was ported too large so the puck on my thdp covered all but about a small area on the top edge of the puck. my Dad cnc'd me a plate that goes between the turbo and downpipe that just correctly sized the wastegate hole. I don't have mine running but it looks like it will work just fine. If your interested Ill see if can make another one. let me know. thanx Jason

I need one for my 44, its cut for a ATR external too, although i have a downpipe to fit it, sure would be nice to put it on another car... cough cough white car later on down the road.

That would be great if it works, I would really appretiate one. Im curious though, I use the exhaust elbow so would it still work? Do you have a picture of it at all? Im quite interested.

plate

send me some info and we can work something out. My dad is a fabricator, and he has my downpipe and exhaust housing now. I called him and asked him to make a couple more of them. Basically it is a plate made out of stainless steel. It matches the flange on the downpipe, so all four bolts go through it. Then it has 2 holes one the exact size of the turbine, and the other is the exact location of the wastegate hole. I could ask him to make one with a smaller hole for the wastegate for you. if you wanted to open it up abit then you could. He has all the goodies at work and hopefully he will set a cad program up and the lazer will cut them out. Anyways stay in touch, and hopefully in the next week he can pop a couple more out one for you and one for Brian. I ran into the same problem, except I bought mine knowing it had been ported to an atr externally wastegated pipe. I didn't think anything of it until I went to bolt it up. I think it will work just fine, and its a heck of alot cheaper then a new housing. Jason

I can loan you a stock elbow so your dad can make the one for stock elbows, just make sure he drills the hole smaller than the puck...
I have a few stock elbows, so he can compare more than one...

This is a good idea to make these, ive seen too many new ta49 turbos where the small hole is 1/8th of a inch off and the factory elbow puck actually will bind in the hole and cause slow spoolup.
