Turbo Fenderwell dump

My friend has a sweet GN with 70,000 miles that he's been storing for the last 8 years or so. He's got a bigger fuel pump and a chip. He's wanting to get back into racing a bit and was talking about going the fenderwell dump option as it's cheap and easy to install. I remember seeing many of these back in the day, but didn't pay too much attention as it wouldn't work for TTAs. Does anyone know who makes these still or was that a do it yourself kind of mod?

I don't know who makes a dump pipe, but the plastic passenger side inner fender is a turbo-specific item no longer available from GM. Sure would be a shame to ruin it by chopping a hole for the dump pipe.

Thanks for the quick reply, that does suck that you can't get the fenderwell peice any longer. He's on a budget and I understand that this would give the most flow for the buck, I think the THDP is a nice piece. Maybe he can save up for one of those instead, the alchy injections will have to wait. haha:wink:

hmmmm that isn't what I remember using back then ... the stock elbow was modified (welded) then ya had another piece (3") that went out the wheel well really old tech ... maybe a good downpipe would work almost as well ??!!

Grumpy; I think I know what you are talking about. The stock elbow was replaced with a modified one, that could be capped off with a plate, or have a short elbow bolted to it. I am not sure how the one I listed on e-bay works, but thought it directly bolts to the elbow. So I changed the words on the listing to reflect my uncertainty as I would not want to mislead anyone. If anyone knows exactly how the piece I show works, please let me know!

yup we had a cap with a plate and a 3" pipe straight out ... yours looks like it bolts on where the stock downpipe goes .. the main purpose was to get the exhaust straight out

i have one, it bolts on the exhaust hosing with a block off plate, you take to plate off and bolt a small pipe on that exits out behind the front wheel,mine has a crome pipe, $100, let me know, send me your e-mail i have a picture.
