Turbo LS Cost

I recently did the ls turbo swap and have spend every bit of 20K if not more with a junkyard motor, however I did it right the first time. I built and installed everything myself from log manifold to fuel system. I have a new built 4L80E, holley dominator efi, BW s475, etc. take it from me it is not the cost of the turbo it is the cost of everything else to hold up to the power that you will make. This goes for a N/A motor to though. If your gonna go fast its gonna cost!! Now i didn't buy any used parts because I'm not big on putting stuff in and taking it right back out because someone lied to me about what they are selling.

So, are you kinda confirming what I wrote earlier in post #18?

Basically if you want power and reliability it's gonna cost ya. No considerable percentage of savings can be found using an LS motor on an entire package that could cost anywhere into the many thousands of dollars.

We all pay big time. One way or the other.

I'm close to start wiring and install of all new parts , I can now say I'm at $10k on swap and that's to just get the LS running NA . The turbo will be another $2-3k I'm sure .

I agree with you 100%. I used to race in TSM. Five years ago we sold the V6 motor and started the Dart block SBC V8 project. I kept a spreadsheet of everything we bought for the project and I'm north of $21K. That's using the XFI/XIM and the TH400 from the V6 and doing all the work ourselves. You said it best, "If your goona go fast, its gonna cost!!!" I have no regrets... If done correctly, these motors make big reliable power.
