Anybody use these instructions for rebuilds? How reliable are they?

Then yes, crude but effective. I would not add the extra clutches or remove springs from the direct clutch as stated, but other than that it will get you through. No guarantee's though, I would be more inclined to follow the ATSG manual and "Stenghtening the 2004r" article posted at the top of this fourm, for better results.
