Turbo Saver Questions

I've got a PTE Turbo Saver enroute along with a new TA49. I got 20,000 miles (2 yrs) on latest turbo and 30,000 on one before that one. Car is a daily driver and sees no track times. I'm hoping that the Turbo Saver install will give some added protection and insurance to further the life of the turbo! Has anyone had one on for some time and what are your impressions and findings? Any tips/ tricks to the install that the instructions don't cover? I do like that the filter is relocated and will be easier and less messier to install with the Turbo Saver. TIA!

turbo saver

lost a motor last year ...turbo was fine...have had on the car for some 2 years now....dads car has one also...

only problem i ever had was the housings leaked oil where the filter is....sent back three times to finally get it right....i like them....the are easy to put on....use lift or jack stand to make it easier..

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering if anyone wanted to answer my questions! Was the leakage due to O ring now seating at oil pump attachment where cover goes to new remote location or at new filter housing?

they all leaked at the housing where the new filter goes....just seal the lines and tighten them down before you get it on the car....

Mine dosen't leak
Evan make sure you take out the batt ,makes the install easier.

it took 5 different turbo savers for the oil not to leak out of the housing....i have pics of the leaking...had to send back to patrick or daisy each time...great people...just freak problems i guess...

Been running one for about 5 years (or close to), without a problem. Last year went to AN line and fittings. Just because the others were so old.

turbo saver

Evans, when you get done run on down to Tifton and put mine on.

J/K, I might put mine on this weekend when I'm off again. I was wondering if I should unscrew those hoses and seal them with some teflon. Guess it's a lot easier to do now than later.

Anyone know what size hose to replace the rubber ones with braided steel?

You talking about the ones on the TS, that go from the remote mount to the adapter? I'll look when I get back in tomorrow if no one has replied. Mine is still off the car.

Yes, im looking to replace the TS hoses. Not sure what size ID to use for theese.
