With the closure of just about every track down here in So Cal I am not so sure of my turbo choice. I have a DBB TA-6262 (stock appearing) with a CAS V2 and I don't think i'll ever be able to push it to where I was going to go.

The original goals was mid-high 10's but now it doesn't really matter, there is no where to race it. The trans has a "3200" stall converter, I haven't tested it but it doesn't feel a whole lot looser than my old KB 9/11 that stalled at 24-2600.

I am going to be installing an Alky kit in the next few weeks and aiming for 23-24psi on 91 octane.

I guess my question is with this now going to be a pretty much 100% street car what would be a good combo? Stick with what I have? Smaller turbo with a stretch or Duttwilier neck IC? I want to stay stock appearing and the money is not an issue if I change over (buying a new turbo, selling my old one, etc).

I think you should be able to reach your goals with what you have.
I don't see any need or reason to upgrade at this time.

Actually not an upgrade, more of a downgrade because it doesn't really matter the ET anymore. The only track lefts are Irwindale and Barona, both 1/8 mile.

That is actually a really nice street turbo with your combination.
How does it spool?
You don't want something too crazy, you may not hook up.

It will likely take more boost it get into the tens. The stock appearing compressor cover is no where near efficient enough to get the most out of the 62 cea but the 62 turbine isnt either. I would focus on dialing it in with the alky before you replace any more parts. Plenty there to get it done. Once you get where you want (or not) id start looking for power with what you cant see since you want the stock appearing look.

It spools real nice, but without the drag radials the car will light the tires up real easy. The car is a beast with some good gas (and will be with alky) but if I can dial it back a bit it will probably be just as much fun. I know when I had the stock turbo on the car before the 6262 came in the car would fall on it's face above 4K rpms so with the cam and heads I can't go too small.

10's really are not the goal any more. Fast fun street car is what it is now. No tracks, I don't street race.

Mine is similar to what your running and I havent dialed it in yet but its an awesome street car. Spools great, great drivability. Can drive anywhere and then go hit the 1/4 mile and drive home. I'd just dial it in w/what you have keeping the stock appearance and enjoy it. Mine looks pretty much stock to the average enthusiast and It should be a solid 10 sec street car once its dialed in and I crank the boost up....... Just my $.02 worth

You can still have fun at the 1/8 mile strips.... they are easier on parts too. You should be able to get it into the 6's in the 1/8 in the mid to upper 90's on the trap speed I would think.... maybe even 100mph. I'd run it and get the alky dialed in. It will be a blast.

Leave it,But if moneys not an object,Add an Aftermarket ECU (FAST,BS3,ProEFI,etc,etc),you'll get a better tune with alky an easier when adding larger injectors later, best thing no more generic chips for each new add on.

as for not street racing....lol Ya Right!!!
