Turbo swap?

Sorry for the possible stupid question but...I'm a rookie.
Is it possible to fit an earlier turbo set up on a 1990 3.8L that didn't come with a turbo? If so, what would be a good donor car and year? Thanks.

the simple answer is NO, the 3800 series II motors only share displacment incommon, other then that they are not even close to being the same.

Thanks. I bought a 1990 Electra Park Avenue for $100 and I am putting the engine in my dune buggy and was hoping to increase HP. Oh well.

maybe get a hold of an eaton SC unit from a SC regal/GTP i have no clue on them you may wanna post that in the SC area on this board.

Simple answer is no but a more complex answer would be yes. It would involve alot of custom fabrication (but hey, it is a dune buggy) of everything from the headers to the intercooler piping etc... Could it be done, of course. Will that engine hold the power, only if properly built. Try talking to darthfiero as I believe he has a turbocharged series 1 or 2 engine in a fiero.

BTW the supercharger would also require the SC heads.
