Eagle makes a etching spray cleaner.. black bottle it has a vector wheel on the bottle.. its the best to use.. wear gloves.. and use a brush.. spray it on let it soak and get to scrubbing. Good luck!

Think Ive seen it....is it the one with the wheel that looks like a Ttype wheel?

That stuff works real good. if the rims are real dirty my buddy used some kind of air conditioning a-coil cleaner. he does heating and air, that stuff works really good. but i dont know were to get it. i can ask him if needed.lol

here is mine cleaned then i clearcoated the rims (3 coats) to keep them clean.

Just ran across your post. If you want some harsh cleansing of your T wheels, go by carquest and get you some alum-bright. Wear gloves when you use it. It will take it down to bare aluminum. I used it for years until I sold the car.

Will it take off the clear coat? Is so....what happens after that?

If it does take the thin layer of clear off, you will just have to use this stuff each time you wash the wheels. Mine were so bad, it was the only thing that would get all of the grime out of the tiny cracks. If you wanted to, you could clean them and then use a stripper to get all of the old clear off. Then you could reclear them by either powdercoating them or spraying them with Krylon triple-thick clear.
