turbo waste gate

i just got the buick running does anyone now what the waste gate is for
and how it goes installed the turbo it has is a 60 and the waste gate has 3
holes that does not fit on the turbo

The waste gate is used to regulate how much boost the turbo is set at. Can you post a pic of what you have? Pics of the wast gate turbo down pipe and headers would help alot so we can see if its an external or internal wast gate.
