I was wondering what a you needed on your car if you were going to go with a LT-70 turbo with 4 bolt flange. I know I would need a new down pipe, tourqe converter, ALOT MORE FUEL.
But I was just wonted to get some more detail on what would be need to put a LT-70 on. I can get one at good price, and thats why I am wondering.
THANKS

before you buy the "good deal" LT-70, consider that it will prolly be the cheapest part of the buildup you need to support it.....and if you don't know what all it takes, I suggest you pass

my vote is with woody, better pass on that one. It's going to take a lot more to support it than you think!! Also, you forgot to mention it will require a new 4 bolt passenger side header

Same comment here. I wanted a solid 10 second turbo. When I was looking for a 63/64 everybody was out, so I ended up getting a 54.

The turbo was around $750, after everything was done to support that turbo I probably had over $3000 in the conversion. Short list...

Injectors + ecm mod $650
Converter $900
Turbo $750
Converter install $300
V4 intercooler used $550

As well as several small details. Luckily I already had a THDP, good exhaust, ported and polished head as well as all the small supporting mods. So, that deal on a turbo can cost you big $$$$.

keep in mind if you really want it you could get 3 bolt housing for it and make it a 70-1 which will bolt on.

i have a 70-1 John Craig unit on mine now with a 3 bolt garrett housing.

expect needing 3500 stall and 72# injectors .... it helps to have some head work and can to help move all the air in and out the motor.
