Turn signal stalk

Hello all, this is my first post here. What I was wondering was, does anyone know the procedures to replace a turn signal stalk? I bought a new one from Kirban and I have never replaced one before. Thanks in advance.

This stalk detaches from the column with just a good tug. The wire passes down inside the column. you can see the plug under the dash. Unplug the lead, attac a length of string, pull it up through the column, attach new lead to string and pull back down the column and plug it in.
