It's taken me a year and half to get to this point and it is somewhat discouraging.

She looks so pretty but beauty is only skin deep when she won’t fire up.

Everything had to be brought up to readiness. It took about a dozens nudges to get the fuel rails primed. The bottom end had been coated with STP so spinning the engine brought up oil pressure in no time with no expected damage.

Ready for the real thing and she would not fire.

Checked spark – there was none. Crank timing had been set to 22 degrees after TDC. Cam timing test wouldn’t work ( voltage was supposed to drop off to nil at right setting but didn’t drop at all). This is the test called for by GM.

Tested the three way fuel rail connector and triggered spark – thus coil pac working.

After many hours in the heat we called it a night – will review manual and hope for a breakthru’
Anyone have any suggestions to point me in the right direction? I checked the fridge and it was plugged in.:(

Is the orange connector by the battery connected? This gives power to the ECM. Unconnected it will cause your problem. I am sure you already tried this. Brad

once I had no spark, the wire going from cam or crank sensor was broke inside the insulation. check your wires from end to end make sure none are broke.

Problem solved?

Turned out to be a bad cam sensor. We had the two three wire connectors reversed and that probably blew the cam sensor. In any case we shorted out wires to fool the injectors into thinking the cam sensor was there. The car started - ran really badly - likely 'cause you can't choose what cylinder to fire when fooling the injectors.

Chased down complete unit in Canada for $225 (GM price for assembly was $503 CDN retail).

On it's way and likely in last week July.

Will update later - thanx for suggestions.
