TV Cable Adjustment?

It's been so long since I've had to adjust the TV cable that I can't remeber which way to move it to firm up the shifts. I know you release the lever and slide it back towards the firewall and then press the accelerator to the floor to get the initial set. Do you move it one more notch towards the front of the car to improve the shifts or one notch back?

Shorten it up a notch by moving the slider back towards the firewall.
