Hi eveyone kinda new to the game here! got a 87 gn, the guy i bought it from said the only thing that he knew about the car was someone spent about $2400 bucks on the tranny. It has a art carr pan on it and who ever was in the pan last wrote the date on the filter! (04-04-06) I adjusted the TV cable this weekend and it seems to shift all funny now? when im taking off it seems to go from 1st-2nd fine but then almost weight or bog the car down for a full second or two. once the rpms are brought up it will go from 2nd to 3rd and do the same thing! seem like it does this more when cold and only sometimes when warm.

I also think the torque converter is doing something wrong. some times when i stab it for a roll its all rpm with no go, only till after i get out of it will it lock up! I also found a wire that lead down to the tranny that has a 4 prong plug that i can not find where it plugs into? for the most part the trans does well cause i P-footing it around, has a recent change in fuilds and a new filter. Any ideas? I am new to the locking and convertors and stuff so you got to talk slow and all that fun stuff! thanks

sounds to me like your converter is locking once it gets into second gear causing the motor to bog. Did you adjust the TV cable properly, push the button on the cable and then pull the cable as far back towards the firewall as it will go. Then press the throttle to the floor, you may hear the cable click but this will give you the proper setting.

Did the car do this before you made the adjustment???

Let us know.

That "4 pin" plug, Plugs into the tranny. (On the same side the shifter shaft is on). This get's the signals from the 3rd & 4th gear switches in the tranny and it is the connections for the TCC lockup.

Was it unplugged?

Yep, yep and yep! the tranny was acting a little wierd before i adjusted the cable, i pushed the tab all the way in (or back towards the firewall) and then gave it WOT and seen it move and heard 3 "clicks", and yes the plug is not hooked up. I was thinking that it was something like that and i looked all over and for the life of me i couldnt find where it plugs into? I was thinking that maybe it was something that got deleted after art carr rebuild (if that really happend cause that was two owners ago and the only proof is what i think is an after market pan and an "art carr" sticker on it, and the guy saying the previous owner putting bunch of money put into the tranny)

can someone give a description of where this plug goes? i have so time today and im going to look again but d@mned if i know where she goes? or was it deleted for some reason?
