tv cable stuck

I pulled the tv cable off the thottle body and the cable is stuck all the way out, the thing wont go back in, sound like something in the trans or the cable. This is in my jeep and i was told its a 86 turbo 350 four wheel drive trans.

the cable on a 350 is only used to dump upshift oil based on vehicle speed and throttle position to enable the introduction of passing gear . it should have some spring tension on it when pulled ,but should only start to pull at 5/8 and above of throttle opening.what kind of jeep?strange combo.,i thought jeeps used chrysler 904 trans.what engine?

Its a 84cj, i just put a 1990 TBI 305 in with the t350 trans. i just need to find a way to get the cable to work or just not use it at all.

What will happen if i do hook it up or have it mis adj will the trans burn up like the 200r4.

Not if it is a turbo 350.If it's a turbo 350 then if it's adjusted to tight the trans will have a hard time comming out of passing gear if too loose will not go into passing gear.But should not heart it eaither way

I AGREE also if you have it too tight and get passing gear too early you can overspeed the engine if it goes back to first at high throttle www.ckperformance.com
