how can you tell if cble is stretched or worn out ;heres my problem; new rebuilt tranny put tv cable to factory recommen then pull out two clicks(tranny likes it there) it will always go back to factory after a wot pull....very disappionting on new rebuild.

Severely streched cable won't even ratchet out from reset position. I'm alittle confused about your statement, you say you set it at factory spec, pull it out 2 clicks and it goes back to factory, if you set it factory that's max tv and then out 2 clicks it should not be possible for it to pull out any farther? Push tab in, slide cable housing all the way in toward firewall (reset), release tab, open throttle linkage to WOT, housing should pull out to max tv and from there if you press tab again and pull housing out 2 more clicks it should never pull farther. On the other hand if you are pushing the housing in 2 clicks, you will be hard pressed to keep it from pulling out at WOT as that is the most (max. TV) you will be able to get.
