tweeking my 307

I have an 0lds 307. I install it in my 81 regal but the hood won't close. What I want to know is: Are there performance or turbo parts available for my 307? Or should I find a different motor?

why won't the hood close? they put hundreds of thousands of those turds in G bodies all thru the 80's.
as for the best way to get performance out of a 307- i'd say to just replace it with an Olds 350 or 455 and be done with it. they will bolt right in using the stock mounts and tranny, and the 350 will use all of the stock accessory brackets. the 455 will need a few different brackets, but nothing that's not easy to find in the boneyard.

Hood

Is it hitting were the alt is? I currently have a 307 in my ttype and if I stall it up the moter hits the under side of the hood. I think the frame mounts were the moter bolts to must be different. Mine seems to be 2 inches to high need to swap frame mounts to see if it helps.
