Sure looks like a hot air twin here too. I have no pics of that car to post, but have a two page ad with a centerfold like spread of the twin turbo 4.1 stage motor the Buick built and installed into the 1983 Indy pace car Riviera convertible, looks almost the same! That Riviera still exists and it is all Buick! It was the first of the fuel injected, CCCI type engine from Buick to be followed by the GN- T Regals,Rivs. Too bad it didn't make it to the GN's, 410hp hot air, beleive it had alcohol injection too:cool:

Lets see.

It looks to me as though that engine is carbureted. Both turbos feed compressed air into a large cast aluminum "plenum" above the carburetor. It looks like one produced by Gale Banks. Its a universal piece.

I dont know how fast it would be with the carburetor and all, but i would bet 12s would be reasonable. Might be faster.

You dont have to believe me, but, go check out gale banks website. Hes into diesels mostly now, going for a land speed record in a cummins powered dodge dakota. He builds alot of twin turbo big block chevies for marine applications and that is one of his plenums. I think now he has incorporated a liquid intercooler into the plenums too. At one time i wanted to purchase one for my GS, as i was going to do a similar twin turbo setup as shown in the picture. I was going to use a intercooler though.

Ask anyone who knows that car, ill bet you im right. Unless of course it has TBI or something of that nature.

notice the distributor and msd box... Non Coil pack engine. Not likely that it's an SFI engine... Usually you see water pump driven distributors on High HP SFI cars. fwiw gotta vote carbureted.

Love those Riviera pics! I need to get one of those going myself! ;)

There is a white Canadian Regal that runs an SBC with twins that looked like one in the picture. The car is pretty fast.

I believe Geno can tell us for sure.

I saw pictures of the car at one time on www.horsepowerheaven.com

I am referring to the 1983 4.1 stage block Twin turbo THAT the buick motor car company MADE< it is SFI , take a good look , print it out, and read the specs.

notice, the waste spark coil pack, dual bosch fuel pressure regs?, an Actual fuel injector showing up in the picture, This is turbo SFI proto-type that made it into production the next year in 1984.

Maybe you guy are looking at the other links, Commnication error
