Not too bad, doesn't look like a rental car anymore. I don't know why more cars aren't available with smaller displacement turbo engines. Especially with fuel economy being a big concern.

One of my favorite cars!!! I had 2 1992's and a 93 with the 5 speed. Awesome cars. Never had a problem with any of them. One of the coolest sounding engines I've ever heard when wide open. And the intake is a work of art. I will seriously consider one of these in the future if our Lexus ever dies.

The numbers and idea is nice, but starting at 38k$, no thank you.
If they put this engine in the 05-09 mustang body, that would be a different story.

It's still a Ford...;)

Yeah, but nowadays, Ford is producing the BEST cars and trucks, whether you like it or not, period! GM has completely lost everyone's favor and confidence and Chrysler....well, I won't even comment...

Claude. :)

That's your opinion. And since I don't agree with your opinion that means 'everyone' hasn't lost favor or confidence, and that makes your opinion false. ;)

I do like this and wonder how it will compare to a G8 GT.
There were rumors for this in the Mustang but I don't think
anything has been official. It would make a fun car for sure.

If you say so... ...It's true that I shouldn't have used the word "everyone" but "a lot" instead... In the meantime, while GM and Chrysler are on the brink of bankruptcy, Ford hasn't even begun asking for governmental help...just to show you how good GM and Chrysler's management are... for example, the "new" Mustang as been on the road since 2005 now, and Chrysler's Challenger isn't selling like they hoped it would and the not-so new Camaro is a joke (it's been announced several years ago, but it took forever to get into production...WHY?) ...I don't even know if GM will still be around to market it...that is IF they ever do!...It took them sooooo long that the muscle car enthusiasts have long since turned to the Mustang and have enjoyed it for over 4 years now...What a bunch of losers!...They're getting what they deserve!

Claude.

I agree that GM has largely missed the boat. Friggin shame. I will give them props on making the baddest of the bad in the new Vette, but they have missed out on the "middle class sports car". ANd now with the economy in the tank they way it is, who can afford to buy a new toy? The customer base just shrunk incredibly.

GM's new model for 2011... on back order all ready

One major flaw. The Ford emblem on it! I owned several Fords over the years trucks, cars, all were a heaping pile of $hit. I've owned Chevy and Toyota as well. While Chevy has slipped big time in over all quality and performance there is nothing like my Toyota's. Put gas in them, change the oil, change the tires every so many years and that's it.

Back to this Taurus, Body is ugly (although I see some Camry resemblance here maybe Ford got a hint) and that interior is the cheapest most ghetto POS I've ever seen. They should have stuck to the rental car look at least people might buy them. That sticker will chase everyone away and I'm sure like any other Ford after a few years it will be open your wallet while you watch everything fail and break on it. I'm a firm believer Ford makes cars and trucks to last 4 or 5 years (just in time for most warranties to run out) and they start to cost and fall apart. At least all the Ford POS's I owned did that.

Thanks but I'll keep driving my Toyota for a daily driver.

Do the makers know what a coupe is? Sorry, but to me a four door is your parents or grandparents car(I know I am a parent). Not cool by any stretch of my imagination.

I'd be down looking into a G8 but it's four doors and doesn't have a trishield on the grille. I have to have a two door coupe if I am going to part with my money. Must hold at least five and have a trunk. I do not do four door cars. Not even a fan of the hatchback.

Had two fords. Chances of another Not looking good. GM guy from way back, not looking to switch.

Cool concept, just not for me.

Trace that "Camry" body back a few years.... Look at older Mazada 4 doors for toyota's idea. I can tell you that design has cars from every manufacturer on on the planet and yes, "T" does copy some of those into their own vehicles. I've seen it first hand. It's a joke.

Not picking on you, I've just spent my fair share of time driving camry's and was less than impressed for a car that is less than a year old. Does your Camry wander on the road at highway speeds, like all the others? They ALL left the factory with the wrong alignment specs....every one!!! Now, "T" passes that alignment info on the aftermarket alignment shops and they are still off...nice. Don't even get me started on the massive transmission failures the new body launch had.

The domestic VS import playing field is leveling out. TRUST me, the big japanese manufactures will continue to see/allow quality to slip as the auto industry slides down. The big 3 are doing everything they can to catch up...it will be a fun game to watch. My auto stock investments will continue to remain with GM and F period.

It's your opinion, but I for myself, will never own a "pos" import. The automobile has always been an "american religion" and it's not the Japanese or the Europeans who will teach us how to build cars. The new Taurus' appearance is a matter of taste, some people will like it, some others not, but you just cannot please everybody, plain and simple. I personally find it similar to the Chrysler 300 which looks fine to me. Now about Fords, in contrary to you, they're the vehicle brand which gave me the best satisfaction ever! It's too bad you've had some bad experience with them. I currently own a F350, a Five Hundred and a Thunderbird and couldn't be happier with all of them! I find it funny that you say that Fords are built to last 4-5 years...Well then, judging by what you said, I must've been lucky with my previous F350 as it gave me 16 years of excellent service and it's still running strong to date. My Five Hundred is a 3 years old daily driver...so also according to you, I must have another 2 years of enjoyment left before it starts "falling apart" like you said!... As for my Thunderbird, it's the smoothest car I've ever owned and I keep getting many thumbs ups everywhere I go!
Don't worry, there was no offense taken about what you said in your previous post...I guess like they say "Different strokes for different folks"... ...and about your Toyota, don't bother locking it...I won't steal it!!... at least, if someone does, it won't be ME!

See 'ya!

Claude.
