what is the proper name for this and what is it for? Any input is greatly appreciated image.jpg

Need on of these if anyone have one laying around! Mine came loose and melted on the downpipe

it's a vacuum reservoir that maintains vacuum to hold the heater in the mode that you put it in under acceleration: without it, you will have a heater that goes from whatever mode you are in to defrost every time you pull away from a stop light or pass someone on the highway, then go back to wherever the lever is set once you get back to steady state cruising.. the one in the TR is nothing special: it's the exact same one used in Celebrities (and probably every other GM car) of the same era.. i know this because i somehow broke the mounting ears off mine and replaced it with one from an 87 Celebrity and it had the same part number cast into it..

You seem like you know alot about the setup. I made a thtead called hvac vacuum lines, here in the hot air section.

Can you take a look and see if you can figure out where i need to connect my heater control valve to what vacuum line and where the vacuum line is?

Thx

Check out Davehbody.com this is how I did mine a while back I used a t to hook up one side to the cruise control and ran the other to the hvac

image.jpg Is this what that vac line you have going from Twinkie to the vac block looks like?
