Wow!! What a difference when you do it during the day!!!! I could see that top dip stick bolt no problem. Kinda laughed when i looked back at the trouble i went through. Got about 4 extensions, 2 of them wobble which wasnt even needed, and a swivel at the end. No problem. Tranny went straight up, didnt hit anything. Easy 1 2 3 job. Hopefully i dont have to take it back out!!! find out today.

Got your message , ill call you tommorow . Welcome to the transbrake Kid ! Glad to hear the tranny is OK .

I sure know the feeling. I swapped in my "new" Vigilante a couple weeks ago. It was the first time I'd messed with these transmissions ever. That job took about 3 times as long as it should have. :D It's funny when you look back on things. I remember having my first TR when I was 17 and hating just swapping the turbo...which takes me all of about 30 minutes now

You live, you race, you break stuff, you take forever taking it apart. Then you learn and do it all over again, just much quicker.

Floor Jacks & 2 bys (Don't do it)

My brother 20 at the time learned the hard way about floor jacks & 2 bys. He had a floorjack rolling on 2 long 2X12s with a square 2X8 between jack & trans trying to install a Th400 into a 76 TA w/455 12Bolt Posi. I'm 16 sitting at the kitchen table eating some lunch, just came in from mowing lawns. My brother stumbles up to the back door blood everywhere and says I think I just cut my finger off!! I tell him to get in here & get a towel, ice & a pan. Trying to stop the bleeding & keep him from passing out. Turns out he had cut his pinky finger & next finger off just behind 1st knuckle, middle finger dangling, cut allmost off but skin holding it on. He's says hey Bro go find my other finger. He thought He'd just cut the finger next to the pinky off. I found pinky still under the trans pan. The jack had shot out from under the trans. It landed on it's side right where his hand was holding it. The 2X12s acted like a chopping block against the edge of the pan. Anyway after numerous surgeries/infections etc. taking small pieces of tendon from ankle trying to reattach tendons in middle finger and it popping loose. He said F*** it take it back off. Didn't even try to attach the other 2 short pieces
Floor jacks & 2 bys ( DON'T DO IT ) The edge of a trans pan is sharp.
