Has anyone ordered a turbo oil drain line lately? I just got one from Kirban's and the damn compression fitting that threads in the block is HUGE! There's no way it will thread in my block...and yes my block is bone stock. The turbo flange side is perfect. What is going on here? Did GM make a mistake or did Kirban send me the wrong line?

I think the wrench needed for it was like 1 1/4 so if that fits it is the one.

are you missing the brass fitting that goes between the block and the return line?

I just installed mine a few weeks ago (nightmare). There is a brass adapter fitting in the block....just remove that and the new line will thread right in.

I don't have a brass fitting in the block. The block is just threaded. I am replacing an old "aftermarket" style return line that I got years ago (stainless braided line that threaded in the block). I can't remember the factory setup. Did it have a brass fitting with a larger opening than the block opening??? If so I guess I need that adapter.

But you guys are saying the new GM return line should just thread right in the block without any adapters? There's no way...the block side of the return line is much larger than the one I took off.

There is a brass adapter that screws into the block (stock application). Sounds like yours is missing.

And for further clarification there is no way a "compression" fitting will thread into the block, it's 1/2" NPT pipe threads I believe.

That's where the GM stock factory adapter threads into and provides the fitting for the stock oil drain line to go into.

Wow thanks guys. It's been so long since I've had "stock" stuff on my car. Funny how you forget stuff like that. I gotta see if I still have that fitting in a box somewhere. If not, does anyone sell them new or does the dealer still have them?
