Automakers have gone from the 50's chrome & glitz, to 60's muscle, to 70's confusion, to 80's minivans & econoboxes, to 90's SUV craze to this.

The most unsettling thing about this sort of publicity is that now gay/lesbian are being given an identity that separates them from the rest of the population. I've been threating to create a white/black striped decal to put on my vehicle to show my heterosexuality. That would make me and all like me a specialty group. Seems that too many targets are being created for "target marketing". What about the Lithuanian illegal-alien pregnant single mothers? What are they supposed to drive?

This is nothing new, Buick has been doing it for years. I mean with all that "seat of the pants" torque the turbo's have and all it's pretty obvious. Bold and aggressive gn's and in the "closet" cars like the t-types.

:D :D

This is nothing new...remember the del-sol and Nissan Pulsar. Specifically designed to appeal to the "feminin" market (manufaturer admitted).

It all comes down to $$'s fellas.....

$450 million dollar market.

Don't get caught driving your Denali around with a buddy in the passenger seat however... people might look at you funny!

;)

First off, I am not homophobic. I think it's more that they are hetero sensitive. The main reason this happens is that homosexuals are much more likely to be higher educated, has a larger disposable income, and are much more likely to purchase higher end products. That is marketing fact, and why all producers take notice and pander to that segment of the population. No different than they have always marketed, just a new affluent group they wish to appeal to.
