OK guys, I took the driver's side valve cover off. The rocker arm at the very back against the firewall is not moving up and down as much as the rest of them. When I put my thumb on it and put downward pressure to it with the motor running it starts making a tapping noise. I rolled the pushrod on a flat piece of glass and it was just barely bent. When I say barely I mean you could just barely see light under part of it. Now what??? Thanks, R.B.

BTW, this is the original cam and lifters with 110k miles. Is this a wiped cam lobe, collapsed lifter or what? How do I check? What's next? Thanks, R.B.

If the rod was bent, even slightly, it could bind and wipe a cam. Very well what could have happened. I'd wait for some "pros" to chime in though.

Sounds to me like it's time for a cam upgrade ;)

Could be collapsed lifter or wiped lobe...only option is to remove the intake and take a look...

What do you think guys, has this been the problem that I've been having the past several months? R.B.

why dont you take it apart and find out?

while your in there just redo the whole upper half.

new cam, timing chain, lifters, pushrod, recondition the heads with HD springs.

I'm sure all this is over due if you car has 110K

I'd bet a wiped cam lobe. Been there and done that. Glad you found the problem. That would definatly cause your symptoms. Its not a tough job to replace that cam, just time consuming. Plan about a day for it. Also while you got it apart, figure out whats killing those intercooler fans. Good Luck.
