I just rebuilt the motor in my 85, i had a hard time getting the uppipe to sit right between the exhaust manifold and the pipe. I thought i had it on good, then i started the car and now i have a exhaust leak between the uppipe and the exhaust manifold. I cant seem to get the thing to line up any better. Anybody w/ any suggestion Id appreiciate it.

leak

Try this, may or may not work. There are three studs that hold the turbo to the eng. 2 on the pass. side --1 on the drivers side. Loosen those and see if the turbo will relocate to alow the uppipe to seal.

I give that a try tonight. I had done that to get the downpipe to fit, It worked cause it does fit, but now the uppipe, So thanx for the input and i update how it goes. Oh and by the way it there any chance any of those 3in downpipes will be available again.

listen to lee

Yea Lee gave me this tip and it worked great. get some high temp silicon sealant and bolt the up pipe to the manifold first, then the turbo. I had the same problem and lee helped me out.

oh damn dude, you need to jump on that downpipe!

I use Ultra Copper from Permatex.

Just put some on the connection btwn the header and up-pipe connection and let it dry / cure.

Should be leak free.
