Used GM Truck repair History report?

Is it possible to get a major repair history on a GM vehicle by calling the dealer with the VIN?

You can pull history normally from a selling dealer, but at my last experience with GM, there was no set hook up nationwide to retrieve a complete history other than for completion of service campaigns. This may have all changed within the last 3 years though so call a dealer and ask.
