using boost gauge elecrical feed for dash conversion

Making a dash conversion to GNX style. Boost gauge uses direct vacuum from throttle body, so won't need an electric signal for the boost gauge. I would also like to tap into the electrical signal for the oe boost gauge at the lower right corner of the instrument panel (which appears as an orange/red band in the display window). Does anyone know whether a variable intensity led can use this signal. If so, I'll add another indicator light to the panel?

Also, if anyone has a better way to use this signal, please share your ideas.
