Guys,
My laptop just bit the dust and I really can't/don't want to replace it now. Are there any PDA's or Dummy terminals I can use to read/record PL files? I'm looking for something small and cheap...heck, I don't even care if it has Internet Access!

Thanks!

When you say laptop "bit the dust" what do you mean? Will it power up? Do you have the "blue screen of death"? What version Windows you running? More details the better, as I may be able to fix if you spring for the shipping... will do the labor for free, just need the details.

Thanks for the offer, but by "bit the dust" I meant that I was using my work laptop and they did a hardware change out and gave me a new laptop. Now I don't have "admin rights" to load software. I really don't want to buy a second laptop.

This is where it helps to have friends in the IT department :D I have definitely been there before. Good luck!

PowerLogger is not a typical application, so there is no "installation". You just run it.

The issue is that the drivers need installation, and are not "signed".

There are ways around that, but involve me tweaking your PL to use generic drivers.

Big time! I got an I.T. guy to give me temporary Admin rights. Told him I needed to install some "engineering software" :) (Well, it kinda is.. )Got it installed and good to go! Thanks guys!

I would ask the IT guy if he can give you the old laptop since it wasn't worth using...

Oh well, at least he hooked you up and you are running now.
