Ive noticed that in some pics that I have seen, the passenger side port on the vac block is blocked off.when i first got my gn the guy I got it from blocked it off but did a really whack job of doing it.Im going to replace the stock vac block with a new billett one. now my question is
1. what is the purpose of blocking off that port
2. what was there before it is blocked off
3.do I just block it off and forget about it.
4. Is there more to it than just blocking it off. what I mean is, Is there additional things I would have to do when I block it off
Please someone help me out here. I really dont want to make a mistake and blow up my motor. Dont really have the $$$ to pay for a major repair..Thanks in advance

I am assuming we are talking about the large port on the left front...

On all the OEM schematics and pics it shows it blocked off. Mine was also blocked off. All you have to do is put a tight fitting vacuum cap on it and be done with it.

Thanks sqiud.:D
So any auto parts store carries a vacum cap? I would also still like to know

Vacuum leak

Like squid said, you can get a cap at any autoparts store. I bought an assortment since there are 3 different sizes on the block and the only port I use is for my BOV.

Cool84 which port did you connect your BOV to. I thought BOV could only go on manual trans. cars. By any chance can you send me a pic of your vac block & vac line routing. Im gonna change all my vac lines and want to make sure everything goes where its suppose to. Also interested in how the BOV is set up. thanks in advance .

BOV=Blow Off Valve

Far as the big line, I would wager the intent of it on the TB was to hook up vacuum brakes on an N/A engine.

that would be it. if you get rid of the hydroboost or power master and go with the vacuum brakes that is the port you use for the vacuum booster.
