Well my Stupid Powermaster is Going out and I want to convert to a vacuum system. I have the info from GNTTYPE.org but still have a few questions. On the 2 Papers I have from GNTTYPE.org, 1 says Vacuum Booster and the other says Vacuum Assist Canister, What exactly should I ask for at the autoparts store?
I found the Break pedal and bracket and the master cylinder is in stock at Autozone. I was planning on ordering that aluminum Vacuum block from Kirben for 34.95 to hook the vacuum line to.
Anyone have a picture of the vacuum system installed by any chance?

As you can tell I don't know much about working on cars, I just want to make sure I have everything I need so I don't have to rent a car for work.

Thank you,
M.

Having just done this over the weekend, here is my two cents.

Get the double-diaphram type vacuum booster like what the Monte SS in 86-87 used. I know most of the vacuum brake G-bodies from 79-87 used the same unit, but specifying it to the guy behind the parts counter lets them pick it out from the computer easier. I thnk mine was part number 50-1243 from AutoZone. $200 -- order it with a master cylinder.

Mine seems to work fine so far. Buy a filter for the vacuum line that goes to the booster also. If it does not explode from boost, it should help keep oil out of the vacuum booster.

I am surprised you could get a brake pedal at AutoZone.
