Hydroboost Vs Vacuum Vs Powermaster
A Vacuum Booster Is O.k. For Normal Grocery Getting Operation, But When You Build Boost, The Pressure In The Vacuum Hose And The Check Valve Is The Opposite Of Vacuum. It Is Pressure. Pressure Can Blow The Hose Off, Or The Check Valve Apart. Neither One Is Good. If The Valve It Self Is Forced Into The Booster, Manifold Pressure Inside The Vacuum Shells Would Be Great Enough To Blow Them Apart. Kind Of Like Sticking A Shop Air Hose Into It. Like Dr. Booster Says, You Have To Rev The Engine, And Let The Throttle Slam Shut To Build Vacuum For Just One Shot. Same Thing Everytime. O.k. Then, On The Line, You Build Up Turbo Boost By Opening The Throttle. If You Let Off The Brake Pedal Slightly, There Is No Vacuum To Hold The Car, And Whamo! Red Light! A Guy Was In The Points Standings With His G.n. Using The P/m, And After 3 Red Lights, He Was No Longer In The Points Running. He Said The Car Would Creep At Zero Boost. With The Hydroboost, Guys Are Reporting Here, On This Forum, 15 To 22lbs Of Boost With Their Foot On The Brake. The P/s Pump Is Spinning Faster As The Rpm's Come Up, Locking It On Harder.
