Guys,
I started checking some basics on my engine tonight chasing a high BLM problem. This car had a blowoff valve on it when I bought it that was welded into the uppipe. The vacuum line is teed into the same line going to my adjustable FPR however it has a one way valve separating the blowoff from the AFPR. This valve appears to be defective as I can both blow and suck air through it. What would this do to my engine?
Under boost it seems it would be ok as long as the valve is set tight enough to stay closed....the car has no trouble making boost....but under vacuum is this a vacuum leak? Is that valve closed under vacuum? I am not sure there even needs to be a check valve between the AFPR and blowoff. Can someone enlighten me how these stupid things work?? Thanks in advance.
