Valve Covers

What are some proven methods to clean up stock valve covers so they can be polished and cleared?

Sand Blast them and you'll be set.

Good for painting but if you want to polish them I use glass beads, doesn't pit the covers so much. If you are just wanting to clear them , glass bead them first then wet sand them with 600 grit paper then your set. Good luck Daniel

i dropped mine off at a local guy...he bead blasted them then powder coated them.....super cheap and no work for me other than the drive

Here's one that's been blasted with ground glass and coated with eastwood's bare metal powder (A high temp satin clear)
