ordered springs today Kirban's is 2 to 3 week out on tool anybody know where to get one buy, borrow, pay shipping or can one be home made ? just how does the tool work?

It is a modified rocker arm with a tube welded to it, and a notch cut in it so you can access the valve keeper. A multi angled piece of rod is supplied as a lever that you insert into the welded tube and pull it down to compress the spring. If you are changing springs with the heads on the car, be sure to pressurize the cylinder with air so the valve doesn't fall down.

Send me a PM with your address. I will UPS you my tool and you can ship it back to me.

I trust you. If I dont get it back you will be hunted down and terminated. :D

Buy an autozone Chevy L-Bar tool for $7.00.

Drill two 3/8" holes on either side of the existing hole and use the rocker shaft bolts holes as a pivot point.

An old shock absorber rubber bushing and washer help with the pivoting and compressing.

Do the first spring of the pair (I or E) with the bolt in the offset hole and move the pivot bolt to the center hole to get the second spring.
