I hear lot of guys running the comp cams 980 springs. I have a set of 981 springs I was thinking of installing. Has anyone used these springs and will they work with stock cam

Those are the ones rated at 105lbs right? Might run a bit rough/harsh on valvetrain, you could upgrade your cam might pan things out a bit.

Or

Just get LT1 100lb springs/980s/ Kirbans 100lb drop in Springs.

yes they are 105lb spring. Was going to use them if they will work. Looking at specs of 980 and 981 springs they are only a few thousandths diff dia and height but bout 10lbs more spring press.

I'm sure they could fit. It really comes down to, if they will work with your stock cam.
From what i know you might need a different Cam with that higher lb spring.

I plan on going with kirbans 100lb springs myself, drop ins.
other members should chime in with if they will fit/work tho.
I say, use your motor for testing only if you can afford to replace/repair it.
