I have 3 different valve stems here right now (2 hexnut style, 1 long 1 short, and one pull through style). None of them fit. It appears the thickness of the metal is too much and not enough thread sticks out to thread on the hex nuts. And the pull through stem does not seem to fit either, also b/c the thickness is too great.

Has anyone else had similar problems with thier Telstars?

I was wondering if any1 knew where to get some stems w/ a longer threaded area, or any other suggestions as well.

Thanks, steve

My suggestion is to phone Center Line, tell them what you're after, ask for a tech, and let him put you onto the proper valves.

I had a problem finding proper metal valve stems for my Convo Pro skinnies. Skinnies have different requirements from regular wheels - there's very little room for the valve bases. I phoned Center Line and for a few bucks they were at my door in a couple of days.

Use metal stems, and get the right Center Line parts - don't hack it up like so many do...

The metal valve stem you most likely have has two rubber grommets and two metal washer and one nut the washer should have a raised edge (cup) the rubber grommet of the right size the that fits the hole best gos on the inside with one washer and the washer on the out side with the raised edge facing the nut so it dos'nt scratch the wheel tighten the nut fill with air stand back and love the look.stay safe.AL.

I bought my bolt on stems at NAPA. Nothing special, just asked for them and used what they gave me. Worked fine.

I got the pep boys metal stems on my Telstars and they work fine. I have no idea what your talking about.. Threaded fine and no leaks..

OK, let me spell it out.

If you buy Center Line wheels, buy Center Line valves.

You can take your chances with somebody else's valves, but they may not fit.

IME, there are different Center Line valves, depending upon the particular wheel you're dealing with. If you phone Center Line they will tell you exactly the Center Line valves you need, and will send them out for a few bucks.

Now, you MAY get lucky going with somebody else's valves, but you DON'T NEED ANY LUCK if you stay with the folks who manufactured your wheels.

Peace.

I appreciate all the help. I wandered into Pep Boys the other day and to my suprise they had ones that work...then I came home and read this. doh!

The problem w/ the other stems I had was there was not enough thread sticking through the rim for the nut to even start on. The Pep Boys ones(brand: Camel) have plenty or thread and work fine. If I have any problems I will contact Centerline like strikeeagle suggests but I will take my chance with these now.
