allright guys on to the next step on the TR i will be going up top and would liketo know if anyone can provide some part numbers or good recommendations for the following job.
1.valve springs... i wanted to know if there was anything that is a direct replacement that does not need shims to fit on the stock heads also without needing any machine work done to the head to makem fit. i have heard alot about the 980-12 springs is this a good replacement for sotck i later would like to go to a 206 or 208 cam in the future which springs should i go with in this scenario but will also work with my stock set-up. (in other words i want to use the same springs later for future cam install).
also if they are double springs or if they have the dampners in them do i run these springs without them and pop them out or do i need to run without them.......
2. lifters anything recomended with any part numbers for same scenario as above.....
3. valve stem seals had a couple problems trying to find these for my lt1 but how about for these motors what is a good brand stock replacement w/ any p/n's.....
4. pushrods.... hoping someone can recomend clevite on these cause i have a good connection for these from my partner..... what part numbers if any also recomended for future cam install....
5.retainers please tell me i can use the stock ones if they are not banged up, and hopefully they will mount on the springs above with no problems.... (be great if i coud use the old ones..).
6. locks ...please let me know that you can also use the stock locks for these valvesprings this would make the mission a whole lot easier and wil my stock locks and retainers work with a cam set-up....
all of the above parts i would love to change for now on the stock set-up with the stock cam and then hopefully in the future i can pop ineither the 206 or 208 cam and still be able to reuse these same parts that will be hopefully lited fom above.....
please get back a.s.a.p. guys as i want to start rounding up the parts to get this project rolling.....
p.s. any prices or rough estimates would help dearly and especially the part numbers if avialable...
