I don't get it! What if every time a person experienced heartbreak or disappointment this kind of behavior was how they responded to their feeling? I would say that 99 percent of the people involved in this latest incident were just looking for an excuse to go wild. These vandals and thugs are totally undermining any legitimate concerns that the people most closely involved may have.

Agree. Why destroy your own community, jobs and property?

And the decision to hold the National Guard back on the outskirts the first night was completely boneheaded! :wacky:

The authorities were in a "no win" situation...... show too much force and your provoking the violence....too little and they don't care about the safety of the community.

Now that I completely disagree with. With some 2,200 troops on hand plus the police, they should have had the real troublemakers quite outnumbered. When you capitulate under the thought that standing your ground will cause more problems than it will solve, the thugs win. Who the Hell is in charge anyway? The other night, it was the riff raff. :cautious:

I totally agree with you that they could have cleaned house... but my point was that the authorities are under such pressure to do everything in such a way that it's almost impossible for them to please everyone. We know what the outcome was without the NG but I bet if they had went in and a few people got hurt in the process it would have been seen as excessive force and perpetuated the problem.

Unfortunately your way...the common sense way... probably the right way... would have been picked to death by the media and so called activist out there.

Would have been something if they looted and burned Brown's mother's house.

I don't get either because ...it's THEIR OWN community they're destroying! :banghead: I know these people are unhappy but how does that translates into a reason to loot, destroy and set on fire their own belongings and buildings???

The thought of the people affected by this incident were not at all thought of by the people that looted. The media is the MAIN cause of most of the anger and total disregard for the death and due process of this whole tragedy. The disheartening part of the Grand Jury decision is that all involved should be following the dreams and wishes of Dr. Martin Luther King NOT focusing the incident on law enforcement and the race card.

What is getting totally forgotten is Michael Brown chose his fate by robbing that market. None of this would have ever happened if he wasn't a criminal.

Robbery and assaulting a police officer would get me shot too.

Ironic that a young black kid stealing and assaulting a clerk from that neighborhood should have sparked some change, but instead they looted and assaulted police.

I saw signs that said "NO PEACE IN THESE STREETS WITH POLICE IN THESE STREETS"......then I watched the woman reporting from CNN get hit with a rock live on air as the animals burned down their own city.

fuck them let then destroy their own town.. no worries Mr Obama and the gov will bail them out.. this is such bullshit. I have to watch my back 24-7 because I wear a uniform and have to make sure no one is following me home to hurt my family. meanwhile I do my best to protect the people I don't know, because this is my job and it is what I chose to do.
I hate the fact everything is about race feels like we are going backwards instead of forward I blame the media for that. I have so much more to say but its the end of my rant. all my brother in blue stay safe

I have most of the same thoughts. I was just trying to be as politically correct as I possible. The sad thing is nothing was talked about regarding the actual video footage from the convenience store. Where you blatantly witnessed Brown taking stolen items and pushing the hard working owner out of the way as if he had the right to the stolen merchandise.
No matter what the situation in our society these days things will always get blown out of proportion if race is involved.
I wonder how publicized it would have been if a young white or hispanic male would have been shot and killed by an African American police officer!?!

Media is the big problem! They show up at these events asking for calm and understanding while all at the same time fueling the fire hoping to get that award winning shot of themselves in the middle of the chaos that they so cunningly helped create.

Speaking of common sense..........there should have been ZERO mask allowed by participants and the findings of the jury should have been announced during early daylight hours to avoid these folks operating under the cover of darkness.

What one should expect, when dealing with the LCD......:poop:
A good dousing w/ some hipsi water would calm them down...A few broken arms, legs, concussions...All part of being stupid.
I've seen first hand what a good old 2" fire hose can do. The JNP used them on the rioters at Yokota AFB, when I was in Japan.:jawdrop:

They make it a race thing then cry racism. Great mentality.

Machine guns was the only way to fix what happened the other night.

M16 = good behavior.

Act like an animal get treated like one.

You guys ever see those youtube videos of monkeys stealing the luggage from the suitcases on cars?

Watch that, then watch the riots.
Nothing has changed in thousands of years of evolution.
